Relax and Breathe

Blue Skye was started out of the necessity for women to have a place in Seminole Heights and beyond for healing. Our mission is to help women understand what their symptoms are trying to tell them, that what they are struggling with IS NOT all in their heads and that they deserve to feel better. Whether you are struggling with hormonal changes after giving birth or when approaching menopause, thyroid and fatigue issues, difficulty losing weight, bloating, anxiety or stress, there are natural solutions that can help you feel like yourself again.

I gave birth to my daughter Skye in July 2018.  I was not prepared or expecting my hormones and thyroid to shift so drastically after giving birth. Luckily, I was able to test all my hormones and perform a complete thyroid panel among other tests.  I discovered that my thyroid was now under-active, my hormones were close to zero and this was the reason I was feeling so emotional and struggling to get through each day. I couldn’t sleep (despite Skye starting to sleep through the night) and could not lose weight, even with a great diet and exercising 3-4 days a week. I had the worst anxiety I had ever experienced. I decided to do for myself, what I had been doing for others for years. I started thyroid medication that had both T3 and T4 and monitored my levels closely. I got hormone testosterone pellets and started on Vitamin D and a probiotic. Within a few weeks I started to feel my energy improve drastically, I was sleeping better than I ever had (even pre baby), my anxiety had subsided and I actually had a sex drive!

After Jaclyn gave birth to her second child at 41 she hit a wall. This time she knew what what the cause and quickly started working on improving her thyroid health, increasing her testosterone levels and healing her gut, which all took a downward turn from pregnancy.

Some women breeze through pregnancy and postpartum, but a lot of women struggle with postpartum depression, thyroid issues and never feel like they fully recover.  You struggle every day and then eventually your hormones shift again as you begin to enter menopause. You are often told that you need to “suck it up and just get through it”, offered antidepressants or told that “everything looks fine”.

Blue Skye offers solutions for women who know that everything is not fine and don’t just want to go on an antidepressant. They want answers and they want to feel like themselves again. They know that blue skies are just on the horizon if their providers would take the time, listen to what they are saying and offer solutions that are simple yet effective.

We didn’t forget about the guys! If your husband, partner or guy friend is suffering from low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, decreased muscle mass or troubling focusing, his hormones and thyroid could use a tune up! We are all about girl power, but we can’t forget about the guys!!

How does a Canadian girl end up in Florida healing one heart at a time?  It all started on the top bunk in my bedroom in Calgary...

  • My first patient was a small stuffed animal raccoon that I cared for every night.

  • It wasn’t until I was 20 years old that I took care of my first human patient as a nursing student.

  • I was hooked! Being able to connect with people at their time of need was exactly what I loved to do.

  • After graduating nurse practitioner school my path led me to functional medicine and the healing arts.

  • I discovered that our physical bodies are very similar, but our energetic bodies are very unique and need to be treated accordingly.

  • With knowledge comes understanding; with dedicated action and intent comes healing.

  • Staying healthy, being healthy and living healthy is fun!

Are you ready to start your path to healing?

True Love.jpeg

Jaclyn lives in Tampa, Florida and loves the Florida sunshine despite her pale, freckled skin! She grew up in the Canadian Rockies before immigrating to the United States of America with her family in 1992. She spent 12 years in NJ before she decided to go even further south to Tampa Bay. Jaclyn's main focus when she is not helping her clients is spending time with her family, working out at Burn Boot Camp, listening to music and improving her mindfulness practices. She is a huge Tom Petty fan and is currently learning to play the drums. She married the love of her life in April 2017 and gave birth to their beautiful daughter Skye Petty in July 2018. In January 2023 they welcomed their second daughter Tommi Rose into the world. They are also parents to a spunky 9lb Maltese Shih Tzu mix named Willow.

Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Jaclyn graduated with honors from South University with a master’s degree in nursing.  Jaclyn is a nationally board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and thrives on educating and empowering her patients. When she first started college after graduating high school in New Jersey she knew she wanted to be a nurse practitioner. There were several steps and years before that dream became her reality, but she knew in her heart that becoming a nurse practitioner would allow her to help her patients live a life filled with gratitude, trust, love and abundance. She has been in the nursing profession since 2004 and has studied under the best functional medicine doctors in the country.   Her integrative approach focuses on nutrition and gut health, optimizing immune system function, hormone and thyroid stabilization, and vitamin and mineral supplementation.

Most importantly she has a desire to teach her patients to think differently about their health and wellbeing.

HOW WE THINK = HOW WE FEEL!!

The Meaning Of Our Logo

The two blue shapes that make up the circle represent the partnership between Blue Skye and our patients. The negative space creates the shape of a healthy, womanly body with whom we are dedicated to support. The shape surrounding the head is highlighted yellow to represent how we teach and educate our patients instead of just treating their bodies. And finally, the blue shapes are also the shapes of angel wings, a very subtle nod to Jaclyn’s own little angels, Skye and Tommi.
